Weight Loss // Fighting the good fight • Nadia Nelson

The first step to getting anywhere is deciding that you’re not willing to stay where you are. – Anonymous

If you see something wrong… you fix it! I say this as I am thinking of a 3 finger combo from Raising Canes. I know that most women can relate – I’m talking about weight. You know that up and down fight. The one that wins more than it loses. Evertime time I broach the issue of my weight with someone, they quickly dismiss the notion of me being fat and tell me that everything is fine or that I look good. All the while I am thinking of the image of me in the mirror naked…eek!

The battle begins in my mind everytime I have to try on something in the fitting room. I alawys see something cute on the rack but when I try it on, reality becomes truth when the dress or the pants do not fit. Or they do not look at cute as they did on the mannequin. Society is filled with perceptions of the perfect body, size, but that’s not reality. Well at least not my reality. Every time I look at myself in the mirror, I decide that I am going to switch things up. Eat healthy. Go to the gym five days a week. All while knowing that there is a slight chance that things may not go as planned.

My motivation starts for maybe the first 36 hours then it starts to wane as I find other things that I could be doing besides being at the gym, like catching up on my latest show or finishing up a good book. Anyone else have these problems?! They say weight loss is not an journey. That is something I could definitely attest to. In my battle against weight loss, I have won two times losing a total of 10 pounds, each time all to gain it all back like nothing ever happened. ME- 2. Weight gain- 9365.

This time in serious… its time for me to fix it. Time to kick weight gain in the butt and keep progressing!

  1. It can be hard to get into a routine of working out but it really does give you so much more energy. I find it helpful not just to think about losing the extra pounds but to think about getting healthy and more energized!
