I am always looking for the best foodie experiences during my travels and weekend explorations. Best I Ever Ate covers my favorite dishes and restaurants. I am a foodie by heart, so tasty, flavorful dishes are always on my radar.
When visiting my childhood city, I rarely highlight any of my favorite restaurants or dishes. Lake Charles is not exactly known for its food scene. First on my list is Rikenjaks Brewing Company. This was my first time patronizing there and I will definitely be back! Rikenjaks has a really relaxed pub style vibe with reasonably priced food and drinks.
Appetizer
For my appetizer, I ordered the Alligator Boulettes with jezebel sauce. It has the same texture as crab cakes, but with alligator chucks, rice, and cheese… deep fried!! Yum.
Entree
I ordered The Chuck Vegas for my entree with a side of Rikenjaks beer cheese fries. It was very juicy and topped with the ultimate delicacies- fried egg and pickles! Talk about delicious! The beer cheese fries were amazing. I mean anything covered in cheese is worth eating.
